Taurus and Leo are three signs apart, a square, which Hellenistic astrologers treat as a hard configuration. Taurus is a feminine earth sign and Leo a masculine fire sign, and both are fixed, a quality the tradition calls solid. Venus rules Taurus and the Sun rules Leo, so no ruler is shared. The Sun has no dignity in Taurus, though the Moon is exalted there, and Venus has none in Leo. Venus never strays more than about 47° from the Sun in a chart, so the two lords are never more than two signs apart. Hard names the geometry, a structural friction, not a verdict. A square is a one-chart idea, so using it on two people's signs is an extension.

Reviewer's notes
Aspects/aversion by sign (Ptolemy I.13, I.16), dignities, genders and modalities confirmed; the block already says it applies a one-chart doctrine to two people's signs as an extension, which is this page's choice and not an ancient claim. Venus within ~47 deg of the Sun (about two signs; Ptolemy I.17) confirmed.
