Leo and Aquarius are opposite signs, six apart, which Hellenistic astrologers treat as the hard opposition. Leo is a masculine, fixed fire sign and Aquarius a masculine, fixed air sign, so both are masculine and fixed. The Sun rules Leo and Saturn rules Aquarius, so no ruler is shared. Both are day-team planets under sect, the tradition's sorting of planets into day and night teams. Each is in detriment, a concept the tradition names explicitly only late, in the other's sign: the Sun in Aquarius and Saturn in Leo. Of the twelve pairs with Leo, only this one has that two-way detriment. This block uses the traditional ruler; modern astrologers assign Uranus to Aquarius. Oppositions are defined inside one chart; applying one to two people's signs is this page's extension.
A note on “detriment”: the early Hellenistic texts note a planet opposite its own sign without naming it. The term is defined only in late and medieval sources, and scholars disagree on whether the idea was implicit earlier.

Reviewer's notes
Aspects/aversion by sign (Ptolemy I.13, I.16), dignities, genders and modalities confirmed; the block already says it applies a one-chart doctrine to two people's signs as an extension, which is this page's choice and not an ancient claim. Added a note that detriment is a late-named concept. 'Only pair with two-way detriment' checked against the project's own tables.
