Gemini and Leo are two signs apart, a sextile, which Hellenistic astrologers count as easy. Gemini is a masculine, mutable air sign and Leo a masculine, fixed fire sign. Sextiles and trines join signs of the same gender, here masculine, even though the elements differ: air and fire. Mercury rules Gemini and the Sun rules Leo, so the signs share no ruler, and neither planet has dignity in the other's sign. Mercury is never more than about 28° from the Sun, so the two lords sit in the same sign or in neighboring signs. The sextile is a fact about the signs; the planets' real positions would add more. Applying it to two people's signs is an extension of a one-chart doctrine.

Reviewer's notes
Aspects/aversion by sign (Ptolemy I.13, I.16), dignities, genders and modalities confirmed; the block already says it applies a one-chart doctrine to two people's signs as an extension, which is this page's choice and not an ancient claim. Mercury within ~28 deg of the Sun confirmed.
